WPC “Earth” is the theme for this week, as is fitting for Earth Day! So I had to post a more clicks in honor of this special day.

Happy Earth Day!  A special THANK YOU to my friends, Susan Lannen, Leona Bombaci and Madalene Axford Murphy, who have gone out of their way to do their part to try to make a difference on this PLANET EARTH!

The natural world is phenomenal and so much of the man-made world - our architecture, our cities - are stunning accomplishments. They exist hand in hand in both beautiful expressions and sometimes disastrous manifestations. Our entire existence with the natural and the invented is intertwined – each dependent on the other, even as my art evolves, each breathing in the wake of the other. Surface design is one aspect of the process that I love. I thoroughly enjoy the play with color, value and construct, particularly the improvisation which starts with one thing, an idea, a glimpse of a vision, perhaps something that captures my eye for a moment in time and it grows organically. I become focused on whatever piece I'm working on and follow my muse to find my way.

  1. Beautiful images of the woods and the river. It looks like a lovely place where you live, and looks like a great spot for a hike or a bit of a walk. Happy Earth Day. Good on your friends for doing their part to make this world more sustainable. We all need to do our part, and I start by recycling and reusing things 🙂

    1. Thank you Mabel! It is quite a picturesque part of the country. These photos were taken in the Ipswich River Sanctuary which has a few walking paths through the woods as well as a great playground for kids and a walkway around the the whole playground which is a very good size. I’ve been recycling for almost 50 years!
